Asa is from Amarillo, Texas. He grew up working on cars with his dad, and they have always been a part of his DNA. He joined the Navy right out of high school in 1981 and trained to be a Nuclear Electrician. He "surfaced" in Norfolk in 1990 and has been here ever since. His wife Gina (of 36 years in 2018), daughter Stefanie, and son Matthew have sacrificed a lot for his service and to the business but have stuck with him and supported him throughout the years. After three submarine tours, one Nuclear instructor tour, one Nuclear planner tour, and several other duty assignments, he retired as an EMCS(SS) with 23 years of service in 2004. Throughout his Navy career, he was the neighbor or friend who was always fixing things for them. He always had some sort of project going on. Asa started Outlaws part time in December 2002 in a tiny office warehouse while still on active duty. The day he retired was the day that we were open for business "full time!"
