About Us

2007 October - UPDATE - We are moving to a new location. The new address is 2712 Wyoming Ave, Norfolk, VA 23513. Our phone numbers will remain the same. The new location is only about 6 miles from the old one and easy to get to. The new shop space is now about 8100 ft2 compared to our 3000 ft2 at the old shop. We have begun the move and will be completely out of the old shop on 1 November. We expect to be back to full operation by January 2008. We expect to have a Grand Reopening Celebration sometime soon after that. Stay tuned for more info.

Outlaws Rod & Custom was started by Asa Wilson and Mike Hill in January 2003. Both Mike and Asa have been building cars since they were kids. Once they started outgrowing their garages, they decided to start the business near the end of 2002. For the first year it was a part time affair with both of them maintaining full time jobs. Today it has grown into a full time operation with many satisfied clients.

Asa Wilson (Owner/Partner)

Asa was born working on cars. His dad was a car fanatic and Asa tagged behind him every step of the way. At 18, Asa joined the Navy and made a career out of it. He retired after 23 years as a Senior Chief Electrician (Submarines). During his last tour, along with Mike, they started Outlaws as a part time business. After retirement, Asa opened Outlaws as a full time operation and has never looked back. Asa is certified "Car Crazy" and likes all cars, he has no allegiance to any particular brand. His current crop of cars include a 2000 Corvette, a 67 Mustang, a GT-40 Replica, a 86 V8 powered Fiero and a couple of El Camino's.

Lee Roy Runion (Shop Foreman)

Lee Roy and Asa met during their last tour in the Navy. Lee Roy also retired with 23 years as a Chief Machinist Mate (Submarines). He has been with Outlaws since they opened full time and is a major contributor to the success of Outlaws. We couldn't do it without him!
